En la primera película, el protagonista, Dusty, tuvo que demostrar todo su valor para alcanzar alturas imaginables
y se convirtió en un gran competidor aéreo. En esta segunda entrega la historia se centra en un equipo de aviones de bomberos
cuya misión es proteger el Parque Nacional de Piston Peak de un terrible incendio. Cuando Dusty (de nuevo con la voz de Dane
Cook) se da cuenta de que su motor está dañado, cambia las competiciones de carreras para unirse al veterano equipo de
rescate contraincendios. Juntos se jugarán la vida por apagar un incendio enorme, y Dusty se dará cuenta de lo que cuesta ser
un héroe de verdad.
