Kaleb, un adorable Pastor Alemán, es separado de su familia cuando las leyes de Nuremberg son
puestas en marcha en la ciudad de Berlín durante la II Guerra Mundial. Un oficial de las SS decide
adoptarlo para convertirlo en un perro de combate, capaz de atacar y de "mantener el orden" dentro
de los campos de concentración. Kaleb cumple a la perfección su trabajo hasta que un día percibe un
olor familiar. Su dueño original, un chico llamado Joshua, ha llegado como prisionero. Kaleb no ha
perdido ni un ápice de su lealtad, por lo que no duda a la hora de seguir al muchacho cuando éste
decide tratar de huir del campo, iniciando así una serie de acontecimientos inevitables para
alcanzar su supervivencia.
