Una empresa de ingeniería forestal encarga un experimento genético para aumentar el rendimiento
de una remota sección de bosque. Cuando se pierde el contacto con el campamento central y creyendo
que la culpa es de un grupo radical de ecologistas liderado por Rita Hoffman, el director envía a
su hijo a investigar. Aunque ellos no lo saben, la investigación ha tenido unos resultados
desastrosos, infectando a un grupo de leñadores y ecologistas y convirtiéndolos en unas criaturas
que intentan cazar a los pocos y aterrorizados supervivientes.
